Orange finger gorgonians require routine feeding as they are nonphotosynthetic. Foods such as Coral Candy, live phytoplankton, frozen copepods or cyclops, and other small micron foods can be utilized. Feeding should be as frequent as your system and bioload can handle, with a minimum of once a week routine feeding. Feeding at roughly the same time for each feeding will allow this species to become trained to open up and respond to feedings outside of their natural nocturnal feeding timeframe. They should be kept in low light or in a shaded area but can be acclimated into high light zones over time.
